CASE 01 · SINGLE-SERVICE CALL
Persistent slow drain in a mid-floor condo, Jelutong
THE SITUATION
A bathroom basin had been draining slowly for several months. The homeowner had tried commercial drain solutions without improvement and was unsure whether the issue was in the trap or further along the pipe.
WHAT WAS DONE
The trap was removed and cleared of a partial blockage — a combination of hair accumulation and an undersized internal diameter on the original trap fitting. The trap was replaced with a standard modern one and reinstalled. Total time on-site: 55 minutes.
OUTCOME
Drain flowing normally. The homeowner was shown how to remove and rinse the trap themselves going forward. No additional call-backs required. Total cost: RM 235.
CASE 02 · PIPE JOINT INSPECTION
Pre-purchase inspection of a 1980s terrace house, Pulau Tikus
THE SITUATION
A couple purchasing an older terrace house wanted a clear picture of the plumbing's condition before completing the sale — specifically whether any joints were failing and what near-term attention might be needed.
WHAT WAS DONE
All accessible joints were inspected systematically — three sink connections, two toilet flexibles, and the washing machine inlet. One toilet flexible showed early perishing at the fitting end and was replaced. Two sink unions were tightened. A written summary was provided on completion.
OUTCOME
Buyers proceeded with the purchase with clear knowledge of the plumbing's condition. The summary was shared with their lawyer as part of a documentation set. Total cost: RM 295.
CASE 03 · WHOLE-HOME BATHROOM REFIT
Full fixture replacement across two bathrooms, Tanjung Tokong
THE SITUATION
A homeowner refurbishing a condominium unit needed both bathrooms' fixtures replaced — basins, mixers, toilets, and shower sets — and wanted the work handled in a single coordinated visit rather than separately.
WHAT WAS DONE
A pre-visit call confirmed fixture types and delivery schedule. On the day, old fixtures were removed and disposed of, new ones fitted and sealed, and each tested before Farouk moved to the next. The job took approximately eight hours across both bathrooms.
OUTCOME
All six fixture replacements completed and functioning at the end of the visit. No return visits required. The homeowner was given a brief walkthrough of each fixture's operation before sign-off. Total cost: RM 1,500.
